The most interesting types of games from the Poker games list

For most outsiders, the Poker games list is often limited to Texas Hold’em; besides, everyone remembers that Royal Flush is the coolest combination. In fact, there are a lot of variations of Poker. Of course, Texas Hold’em remains in first place in popularity all over the world, but it also has a rival, Omaha, which attracts Poker fans and professionals with tournaments.

Moreover, the largest battles of top-class players at high stakes involve Omaha. This is largely due to a brighter and richer game, which is difficult to achieve in Hold’em. Therefore, any poker room now offers many tournaments, both in Hold’em and in Omaha, and this is not the whole Poker card games list.

There are also variations called Stud, Draw Poker, Lowball, and Heads Up Poker, as well as H.O.R.S.E. Despite these odd names, the rules of the game, are based on the principles that apply in all Poker rooms. The task of a player is to find the most suitable casino or a room for him to play Poker and get the maximum possible bonus for registration and a first deposit.

Poker games list: the most popular types of Poker

As has been mentioned, Texas Hold’em is on the top of the Poker games list that can be found in the lobby of an online poker room. Certainly, the Poker card games list includes more game variants, but it is worth to stop at the most often chosen ones.

Texas Hold’em

Hold’em, in which players are dealt 2 closed cards, and 5 general open cards laid out on the table, is particularly popular due to its excitement, an abundance of strategies, as well as the availability of multiplayer games for any players, regardless of the level and size of bets. Most Poker players prefer unlimited Texas Hold’em, which is characterized by simple rules and the ability to make any bets, including the all-in.

Thus, everything begins with Hold’em. The goal of the game is to collect the highest combination using two cards, which a player gets at the beginning of the game, and five common cards on the table. However, to win it is enough just to convince the opponent that the gambler’s cards are better, in other words — use a bluff.

Omaha is also on the top of the Poker games list, and here, players are dealt 4 cards in hands (2 are in combination). Omaha rules are similar to Hold’em. Firstly, the player receives 4 cards at once, and the final combination consists of 5 cards.

However, only two player cards and three common are taken into account. As a result, the number of game options, as well as the opportunity to bluff, is increasing, and for inexperienced players, this can be too difficult.

There are several options for playing Stud, but the most popular is Seven Card Stud. The main difference between it, Hold’em and Omaha is the lack of community cards. After a round of betting, the dealer gives three cards to the players, one of which will be open to all.

Then each player gets three more open cards and one face down. Thus, playing a seven-card Stud, one can see 4 of the opponent’s 7 cards that he will eventually have on hand. The winner must collect the best combination of his five cards.

Heads Up

This is a special “guest” from the Poker games list, as only 2 players take part in it playing with one deck according to the rules of Hold’em. It is not easy to win here as the game strategy is aggressive: every gambler has to participate in each distribution.

Draw Poker, Lowball, H.O.R.S.E., and others

Almost all types of this list of Poker games are entertaining mostly, very common in home versions of the game. However, self-respecting Poker rooms offer them in their lobby.

What game to start with?

For a beginner, it is better to focus only on Hold’em. In any case: if a gambler knows how to play Hold’em, he will learn any other variety. The basic principles are roughly similar. When choosing a poker room, a player needs to consider many factors, such as, for example:

  • Betting limits. If a player is looking for high-stakes variants from the Poker games list (for example, limit $ 10 / $ 20 and unlimited $ 2 / $ 4 and higher), it should be borne in mind that not all Poker rooms play a sufficiently large number of games at high limits.
  • Incomplete tables, limited and unlimited games. Unfortunately, not all leading Poker rooms online offer a wide selection of games at incomplete tables (5-6 players), and some of them may be more specialized in unlimited poker and limit games.
  • Variety of regular cash games and tournaments. There is a significant difference between the Poker rooms in the range of tournaments offered (sit & go and multi-table), as well as in the variety of regular cash games at different limits.
